Research Experience

  • Completed the PhD dissertation on “Salinity Intrusion and Food Security: Evidence from Three Food Systems in South-western Bangladesh” and submitted to the University of Leeds, UK, in April, 2013.

"The research involved collecting primary data using a detailed structured questionnaire, from 385 households of five areas in south-western Bangladesh along a salinity gradient with varying exposures to an adverse environmental condition — salinity intrusion, and conducting 5 focus group discussions; analyzing quantitative data using sophisticated statistical tools; and developing and estimating econometric models. The quantitative results on household food security and vulnerability to food insecurity have also showed important implications for the coastal region under climate change."
